VESSEL STEVEDORING (ESTIBADOR DE BUQUE)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 Ensure efficient vessel operations aiming at lowest possible vessel port stay.
 Transshipment cargo handling.
 Reefer/Hazardous cargo management.
 Render suitable husbandry services to vessels and crew.
 Be on top of developments in port policies.
 In conjunction with Line Management, negotiate and monitor contracts and/or other agreements with vendors.
 Assist Line Management in day-to-day matters.
 Ensure compliance with established proformas, vessel coordination requirements and international regulations regarding Vessel Operations.
 Maintain Security & Safety standards within Vessel Operations.
 Make sure that stevedore damages are properly documented and followed up.
 Monitor KPI’s and reporting relative to the area.

Intermodal

 Control of all feedering and positioning moves in the national territory.
 Supervision of relationships with trucking suppliers. i.e Unions, private truckers, etc.
 Handle rate and payout increases.
 Ensure that applicable MSL systems (WITC, MEPC) are properly updated and maintained.
 Supervise all relevant reporting and KPI’s.

Equipment Control

 Responsible for all container, chassis and genset fleet in the Country.
 Manage stock factor and performs equipment forecast in conjunction with Line Management.
 Monitoring of equipment aging and turnaround times.
 Oversees damage control and reporting.
 Equipment sale and disposal process.
 Responsible for all KPI’s and reporting applicable to the subject.

Line Economy

 Responsible for the Cost Control process.
 Ensure accurate reporting of monthly costs.
 Monitor costs actuals vs budget, and ensure solid explanations for any deviations.
 Responsible for the savings achievements.
 Responsible for all KPI’s reported to the region.
 Head of Line budget preparation, and various reports.

OTHER RESPONSBILITIES

 Assist in identifying local industry trends and setting strategies accordingly.
 Maintain and develop contacts inside the organization, industry, government authorities and suppliers.
 Strong involvement in projects and changes affecting Maersk Line.
 Assist management and affiliates in setting and implementing Security and Safety standards and processes.
 Assist in claims handling and processes.
 Perform other job related duties as required.


EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

 Bachelor student or degree in Business, Nautical degree, Maritime and Ports operations or administration, other related areas
 Bilingual (English and Spanish).
 Computer skills, MS office package.
 Strong relationship building and influencing skills.
 Excellent follow up and attention to detail.
 High integrity and personal credibility; ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
 Excellent communication skills, ability to work under pressure and team player.
