OPERATIONS MANAGER

PRESTIGIOUS COMPANY REQUIRES AN OPERATIONS MANAGER

WITH EXPERIENCE IN PORTS

Purpose:

The role will cover the operation of the terminal, with a view to maiximising economies of scale and synergies, integrating across the business units and in collaboration with HR functions so as to achieve business, productivity, safety and cost targets as directed by MD/GM of the company.

Accountabilities:

• Assist MD/GM in determining operational targets, including productivity, cost, safety and efficiency targets.

• Ensure operational targets are met, in consultation with MD/GM.

• Work with the different business unit managers, including those from non-terminal businesses, to integrate operations processes across all units, with the aim of maximising economies of scale and extracting synergies arising.

• Oversee and ensure that security, contingency and crisis management plans are in place and sufficient for the company.

• Partner with MD/GM to gather customer and competitor information and explore ways to increase revenue/grow the volume

• Identifying possible business expansion opportunities and assisting in gathering and analysing information, as directed and guided by MD/GM.

• Collaborate with HR Manager to champion safety programmes to ensure a safe and conducive work environment

• Oversee the development and deployment of key managers and successors within the businesses of the company.

• Work with MD/GM to set clear expectations/directions for future size and nature of operations in the company in alignment with the group objectives, including setting capacity and operational efficiency objectives and strategies in alignment with the terminal’s objectives/targets.

• Develop blueprint for manpower and OR capabilities required for business unit to achieve long range capacity and operational efficiency objectives

• Update MD/GM regularly on operational performance, relevant issues and analyses.

• Develop and cultivate good working relationships with key customers to promote excellent service and customer satisfaction.
